Great Indian restaurant in Bogotá's Quinta Camacho neighborhood of Chapinero, near Avenida Chile and the financial district. They open at noon, and they have a great, hearty lunch buffet. They cook several forms of Indian bread on site. My naan was a little overcooked on my last visit, but I have been 3 times and really like the place. They are not related to the restaurant of the same name in Medellín (according to staff)

Authentic New Orleans Speakeasy in the heard of Bogotá. I didn't know about this place but I went with some friends who loved it. Certainly one of the coolest gastro-bars I have seen in Colombia. It's styled like an old US style "Speakeasy" from the 1920s, with a rather suprising entrance, an antique elevator that takes you down to the dining area. The owner, a Colombian American restauranteur attended us personally, and her lively, irreverent personality added to the ambiance. She actually went to New Orleans and found a gourmet Creole chef and convinced him to come to Colombia to create the authentic experience. She succeeded. Now it's one of my favorite places in Bogotá.

DISSAPPOINTING - After eating a few times at the Bogotá location and enjoying it, We decided to make the trip all the way to Chia, thinking the original restaurant would be something special. We had reservations, because the place does fill up. People without reservations were waiting outside to get in. Still, we were seated in what apparently was the gift shop at a small wobbly table, with a view of a line of rear-ends of people in line to buy mementos. Service was slow and several times we had to try to find our server, who was busy gossiping with other workers instead of attending tables. None of the entertainment that passed through some parts of the restaurant ever came to where we were. It was an AWFUL experience and not worth the trip. The food was regular, grilled steak with potatoes. $14,000 for a beer. This is the worst example of a tourist trap. If you must go, go to the one in Bogotá but I am so disappointed I don't even want to go there.

We had the broché de lomo, a kebab of steak and vegetables, as well as the lomo de res. The food was generally good quality, and presented well, however the service was far far too slow. Over 45 minutes to wait for steak, and the restaurant was almost empty, so it was not like the kitchen was busy. The wait was far too long.
